چکیده
A bstract We study the problem of modulus stabilisation in framework modular symmetry approach to flavour problem. By analysing simple UV-motivated CP-invariant potentials for τ we find that a class these has (non-fine-tuned) CP-breaking minima vicinity point $$ {\mathrm{\mathbb{Z}}}_3^{ST} ℤ 3 ST residual symmetry, ≃ e 2 πi /3 . Stabilising at novel breaks spontaneously CP and can naturally explain mass hierarchies charged leptons possibly quarks.

Flavour from accidental symmetries
We consider a new approach to fermion masses and mixings in which no special “horizontal” dynamics is invoked to account for the hierarchical pattern of charged fermion masses and for the peculiar features of neutrino masses. The hierarchy follows from the vertical, family-independent structure of the model, in particular from the breaking pattern of the Pati-Salam group. The lightness of the f...
متن کاملFamily symmetries and the SUSY flavour problem
We re-examine the constraints on continuous family symmetries coming from flavour changing neutral current limits on the D−term contributions to squark and slepton masses. We show that, for a restricted choice of the familon sector, continuous family symmetries are consistent with even the most conservative limits both for the case of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking and the case of gravit...
متن کاملApproximate Flavour Symmetries and See-Saw Mechanism
We study the approximate flavour symmetries imposed on the lepton sector assuming see-saw mechanism as the neutrino mass structure. We apply the symmetry to various neutrino phenomenologies and obtain constraints on neutrino masses and mixings. Typeset using REVTEX [email protected] 1
متن کاملModels of flavour with discrete symmetries
We briefly review some recent developments in theoretical models of fermion masses, mixings and CP violation with discrete non-Abelian symmetries. Then, we explain the main ideas of a recently proposed Minimal S3−invariant Extension of the Standard Model and its application to a unified analysis of masses, mixings and CP violation in the leptonic and quark sectors as well as the explicit comput...
متن کاملModular Symmetry, Twisted Sectors and Flavour
Twisted sectors of heterotic orbifolds have long been of phenomenological interest, since their massless states are automatically localized at the fixed points, resulting in effective couplings exponentially suppressed by the distance between different points. In the field theory limit of large compactification radii, such nonlocal couplings vanish, but they acquire nonzero values through nonpe...
